I can't believe how the year has flown by since my last letter.
http://thereislifebeingthewife.blogspot.com/2010/05/dear-mom.html
This is one of those anniversaries, 10 years. Wow, sometimes it seems like yesterday and sometimes it seems like forever, probably depending what is going on in my life and how bad I would love to tell you the story behind it. This is a huge year for America, it's been 10 years since the planes flew into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon and the plane that went down in Pennsylvania. I was so glad that you didn't have to experience that, you would have been so upset watching the news.

But lets get back to recapping our past year. We are still in South Carolina, it's pretty awesome here, the church is growing and the people are awesome. I told you about the motorcycle, well we sold that one and now have a RED Harley Davidson. Oh you would love this one, so often I think about you just before I get on. We have a great group that we ride with. I tried playing softball last year, that didn't work so well, my hip hasn't been the same, but I did love the few games that I did get to play. Maybe by next year I will have some weight off and it will be better. I am letting my hair grow out, it's getting to like it was in High School. I have only seen 6 gray hairs, guess I got that from you too! Love that!!

Now to recap your grandchildren. Amber and Steven are doing great. They have both changed jobs since last year. She was devastated when her job closed their office this year, but what she didn't realize was that God was closing that door for her (even when she wasn't looking for Him too) and He gave her a better job. She is continuing her education, actually just finished up some classes this week. Can't imagine having to work, be a wife and go to school. She is the overachiever that you knew she was, but she knows that the results will pay off. I can only imagine the twinkle in your eyes that you would get if you heard her say, we are thinking about having a baby. Who knows, buy this time next year I might be sharing about a little one. She wants three boys. Hmm.... I am thinking about the night that we were staying with you and Amber was about 2 years old. Well she gets out of the bed and goes and gets a jewelry box off of your dresser. On the the way back to look inside she trips on the bed and the jewelry box goes flying, straight into your face. Man that was a moment, you said you thought you had been shot! Its wasn't that funny at the moment, but man we have had some laughs about that one. Wonder what those little boys will do when she gets them. I am sure I will have great stories.

Paxston has four and a half more years in the Navy. He is now in Dam Neck, Virginia. He bought a car and now can travel to see us. So Easter weekend went well! My story to remember about Paxston was when he was talking to you one day and he ask you, "Do you know why I love my Mama so much?". Your reply, "No, Why?" His reply, "Because she was the first person I saw when I was born."

On to Crickette, well hopefully we are past the Toad stage in her life. She has a boyfriend. His name is Josh. Not doubt you would love him too, even though he is a Tennessee fan. He is a hoot and seems to really care about her, even when she makes him take so many pictures of them together! He wanted to date her since we moved here, but she always said no, finally said okay! Sound familiar? (that story will be at the end of the month) She is not only in school but working full time too, that being because she has a car now instead of the truck, but it gets better gas mileage! You would be extra proud that her nails are longer than mine right now! That's huge for her. My story of you and her takes place when yall were on the back steps in Doerun, GA. She said to you, "When I grow up, I'm gonna get my belly button and my nose pierced." That child of mine!

And now to the other fireball of a child. I would like to think that he keeps me grounded, but sometimes I think, maybe not. He is playing ball again and loving it, pretty good. The teams he has been on remind me of the teams that you always got and coached. Was there anything that you didn't do? I guess not, since you were extra involved in my life (and I am so appreciative that you did). You just never know what is going to come out of that child's mouth, he makes me laugh and smile so much. Which is the reminder of why God placed him in my life, to be the sunray for you! He gets in trouble a lot more in school than the others, mostly for talking. Imagine that! He was watching the Weather Channel yesterday (because he can't watch TV programs that he wants to) and he came running in to tell me he needed to call a friend to get Skylynn's number. Her grandmother lives in Spain and they just had an earthquake there and she needed to know. Then he proceeds to ask if I knew there was a tornado in Alabama and he needed to know about Pepa. I assured him that Pepa was just fine, the tornado was in North Alabama. He does get a little dramatic sometimes, and that seems to run in the family - not sure where he got if from, ha ha!

I guess you are caught up on all the life and times of your family. My thoughts now are back to this day, 10 years ago, when you woke me up at 3:30 in the morning to tell me that you had some place that you needed to go and you wanted me to go with you. I told you that I couldn't go, but I would walk as far as I could with you and I would hold your hand. I told you that the next day would be Mother's Day and that I didn't know if I would get a chance to tell you, but you had been the best Mother that anybody could ask for and we told each other "I LOVE YOU!". You never came back to after that. When I woke up I called Chris and told him to bring the kids, it was time to say goodbye. When Chris got there we all stood around and spoke to you and told you how much we loved you and reminded you that it was okay to go home. Chris said that the kids and I needed to go eat lunch, so we did. In the midst of eating Amber ask me if I was worried that you would die while I was gone. I told her no, God knew where I needed to be. My hamburger was raw in the middle and they had to send it back, so it took a little longer for us to eat. When we got back Chris was standing outside the hospital, I knew then that you had gone to be with the Lord. We went back upstairs and stood around your bed, held hands and prayed. Chris took the kids home while I stayed to gather up all my things, I had been there all week with you and never left the hospital. As I had everything in my hands and was about to walk out the door, I looked back one last time and remembered that I had not painted your nails. So I put my things down and got out the red fingernail polish. Several times during the week I would ask you if you wanted your nails painted and you would say, not now. I knew the time was now and I took your hands and enjoyed painting your nails for the very last time. I smiled thinking about how much you enjoyed me doing this for you and how difficult it was to paint your toes because you were to ticklish. I placed your hands on top of the covers for the polish to dry. I laughed before going out the door thinking how strange it was going to look when the next person came in to see you, with your nails all done, just waiting. I really hoped that God let you peek down and see that I had done what you ask of me. I am thankful that I didn't have to put that pack of cigarettes in the casket with you! You always said make sure my nails are painted red when I pass away. I Love You Mom, and I miss you terribly, but I have the peace of knowing that I will see you again in Heaven - because we have both placed our faith in Christ and trusted in Him as our Savior and I know that I will be there before you know it, even if it seems like forever down here.
See you tomorrow!! well maybe soon!Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-19069315709051143122012-08-28T19:24:00.002-07:002012-08-28T19:24:38.546-07:00Update on blanketWell that went better than expected, although I had to rip the seams out of one side that I sewed wrong. As you can tell it doesn't look like the pattern... So there were no directions to follow. Lots of adjustments but as Tim Gunn says...make it work!!

Now for the back and to make it quilted looking. I am hoping that this was the hardest part!

Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-78351651643924632232012-08-28T09:42:00.001-07:002012-08-28T09:42:43.921-07:00It's been 8 months since my last confession....Seriously, I can't believe it has been that long since I have posted anything. With the memory that I have I will never be able to share all that I have missed!! But I will try somewhere along the way...

First - greatest thing that has happened since then is that I found out I am going to be a grandmother - I will be called Gigi. Very, very excited about this! So excited that I thought I could actually make the comforter set for his crib. Especially since they are wanting to do an Alabama theme for the nursery and the set that we found was $500. Since my mother always told me that both my grandmothers were extremely talented in sewing, I figured I could do this....

Got the pattern cut out over the weekend and yesterday I decided to cut the material out. We were having the new air-conditioning unit put it and I was going to be at home anyway, so I decided...why not today. And here is why it should not have been today...

The day had not started out like I had anticipated... the first post on Facebook went like this: Going ti ne a very busy week! May beed a coffee IV! I got several comments on that one. My fingers and the touch screen do not work well together.

Next FB post... as the day progresses......we are getting an
air-conditioner and furniture today...a truck pulls up and I go to the
door. He ask me where I want it delivered and I told him the attic...he
gives me this crazy look and says...the attic? Then I realized he was
here with the furniture (early) not the air-conditioner (which was
late). Guess they can laugh at me today too!

Then the next FB post... The day continues ... so excited about heating
up my potato soup for lunch only to find out after stirring its chicken
and dumplings...i don't eat chicken and dumplings...very glad there
really was more potato soup.

the last post of the night... Let me just say that I should not have decided
today would be a good day to start sewing on the baby's blanket. Surely
its not because I am an Auburn fan trying to make an Alabama blanket.
Only 40 minutes left in this day for me...I just may cut out more
squares and that's it! I am not nearly as excited as I was 2 hours
ago!!!

So about the blanket. I don't have a problem with instructions, (when I decided to follow them) but I was seriously giving it a try. The option that we love looks like the quilt in the picture above..with the patchwork.. This is option B...guess what, there are no instructions or true dimensions for the squares other than 15" x 16" remnants. I really don't want to tell you what I did, but anyway here goes... I thought the squares that were on the pattern were for the middle section, since it was part of the 1-4 sections on the quilt... well when you do put all 12 together they are smaller than the inside. So that is when my true point of realizing I was in trouble began. I laid the border pieces out on the floor and looked again at what I have to fill in. So I am rethinking that patchwork idea and will probably redo the center piece. I am so very thankful that we bought extra fabric! But I am sure with the other little projects, but those pieces can still be used! I am thinking that tonight I will give it another try.

Today didn't start out on the best note when I got into a cold shower, but after going downstairs and turning the switch back to on in the fuse box (obviously turned off by the air-conditioner guys) and crawling back in the bed for time to heat up the water, things were just a little behind but seem to be going better.

Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-91412772850515751192012-01-01T17:24:00.000-08:002012-01-01T17:24:45.163-08:00Well it's a New Year!I am on overload thinking of all the things to share with you, but I won't cram it all in tonight!

We had an awesome Christmas! Amber and Paxston were both at home during some part of Christmas and we had such a great time! The best time was had when Amber was down and we got Dance Central 3.

Talk about a workout!
Nothing makes a mom more happy than having her children near!

For Christmas we broke out of our traditional Chili dinner and had a real Christmas meal. We had ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans and macaroni & cheese. We also had great friends come to eat with us along with the boyfriend and girlfriend! After the meal we loaded up and headed to the movies. We saw We Bought A Zoo. I highly recommend seeing the movie!
When the movie was over Ethan says, "That was the best movie EVER! It was worth every dollar we paid to get in". Little did he know that Crickette and I gave blood to get 4 of the tickets. So if you haven't seen the movie, I suggest you go!

That's enough for today! See you tomorrow!Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-87418368956835908642011-10-11T07:03:00.000-07:002011-10-11T07:03:35.680-07:00I really am alive....But my body thinks it on it's way out! I am in my second week of working out again! The fun part is I am doing this with Crickette! So we are an encouragement (ha ha) to each other. We are working out with four other women, who have been at this for 6 weeks before us. Our trainer decided that instead of having to swap the weights back and forth, he would just start us out with the rest of them, and doing the same amount of reps as them too...so needless to say I am SORE!!!

I have to admit, things are crazy around here, but I realize everybody has crazy in their lives too!

This past Sunday I went to my first NFL game!! We have friends that go tickets for FREE and took us with them. Just so happened to be seeing the Carolina Panthers - and we know how I LOVE CAM NEWTON!! WOO HOO. I only took 210 pictures on Sunday. Here a few that I posted on FB. Will have to pull others off the camera and share. October is Breast Cancer awareness month and I think it is neat how the players wear pink too! I am supporting my pink streak again!! Ephesians 1:3 (NIV) Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

As Christians this verse should be very important to us. We should realized that we are blessed beyond measure, but do we act like it? We seem to get down in the mouth so very often about what we don't have but we don't take time to say - WOW - look at what I do have, and WHY we have what we do! First and foremost we are BLESSED because we have LIFE - God choose to let us wake up this morning and live! God knows what we need and when we need it, we may not have what everybody else does, but realize we if we had what everybody else did, we might also have their troubles! Today Thank God for what you have. Know that the greatest gift He has given us was His SON! Be thankful, somebody would love to just be in your shoes. What are you actions showing about how blessed you are?Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-17835226778430129512011-03-08T07:07:00.000-08:002014-12-29T08:02:38.713-08:00Having fun with the Cricut!Just thought I would post what I have been busy doing. I just love my Cricut and I am getting my monies worth out of it. I bought a new program - Cricut Design Studio that helps me in laying out everything and I love it too. But I am seeing that Sure-Cuts-Alot, is a much better program... maybe in the money I save in couponing I can get me one!

Being the Queen of Trying to be Frugal, I am sharing the price with you so that you can realize that you can do this too, without sinking lots of money in a project.

This is a coaster made from 4 x 4 tile. After finishing I put clearcoat on top of it. Price of tiles 24 cents at Lowes. Four of these stacked up are look awesome after finishing off with a ribbon. No need to box it up for a gift. These sell for $15 on Etsy, set of 4 - not sure how much shipping is.

This is on my wall in the kitchen. Not as happy as I should be with it, but for now it will stay. Was learning how to use my program and all the letters are not the same and yes it's hard putting it up even on the walls. I am sure I will get better in time!

This is just a plain plate and I added the letters. It's a wedding gift.

This is an experiment. It's suppose to be a trivet. 6 x 6 tile and then after putting letter on it, I have sprayed many layers of clearcoat on it. I will try it out on Thursday to see if setting something hot on it turns it or messes it up. After testing I will know how well it will be for a gift. I still got 3 more, and I just may have plain tiles for trivets but that will be okay too. Better than placing dish towels on the table and the price was only 48 cents a piece, just add felt to the bottom or you can get the little sticky felt circles or squares. Looks like just a 6 x 6 personalized tile on Etsy is $15 plus shipping.Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-7364305348062698572011-03-07T05:49:00.000-08:002011-03-07T05:49:11.242-08:00Not too bad!Well the top 13 are in..and I must say I didn't do too bad. For sure I got 10 out of 12 and since they added the 13 I got one more. I noted that Haley just might slip in.

I am very sad that Lauren Turner didn't make it in. I really, really liked her!

And just in case you haven't seen the new show on Lifetime, Coming Home - UGH (In a good way)! It will tear you up inside seeing all the stories of the sailors and soldiers coming home to see their families! Of course it comes on after Army Wives, which I am a faithful viewer of! So now Sundays will start off the week of great TV.
Just to show you how addicted I am to TV, these are my shows that I record and somehow find the time to go back and watch:

I really want to review each one of the guys, buy only two people got to hear my comments last night and that will be enough! Don't want to offend anybody, so you guess it, not nice on some of them!
So here are my top 6 picks. I went out on a limb last night and said that two of them will be in the top five. They are the first two here!

James Durbin - Now he has the total package. Watching him last night was like being at a concert already. He knows how to perform and make you enjoy it all! He is my favorite!!

Jacob Lusk - Man this guy can sing! Gotta watch the facial expressions but other than that can't find fault at all. He picked the right song also. We will be seeing more of him too!

Scotty McCreery - He will be here because he is the only country guy here. He is adorable. He will probably struggle with the rest of the songs, but Country it is for him. We will probably hear him in years to come on the radio.

Jordan Dorsey - now he didn't pick a song that was right for him last night, but he has a great voice too. I just think he will be in the top 6.

Casey Abrams - I think people will vote more for him from being on earlier and knowing what he can do. His song was good last night, but I don't think it was the best.

Paul McDonald - not sure why but I think he may be in top 6 too. He is a little quirky, but something about him I think people will like.

Can't wait to see Thursday how I did. There is talent for sure. The only thing I disagreed with last night was the judges. Twice I thought somebody butchered their songs and they just LOVED it. NOT!!! But then that is why I am here, posting to my blog..ha ha . We all have opinions...

Last post Valentine's Day - lets just say if there was no day to celebrate, it would be okay. We should treasure those we love every day and not try to show them on just one day. It mean's alot more if something special shows up for no specific reason at all. They don't have to be expensive flowers to mean so much, every grocery store and Wal-mart has them at the front, already it a bag for you and they are under $10.00. I think that seeing wildflowers and stopping on the side of the road and picking them would be okay too. Why heck, I have a bushel of iris' (my favorite flower) out back, and you can cut them and just bring them inside. Sometimes it's the effort.. and I do have a rose bush too...

..., and I gave been busy. After taking him to his new place of residence in Virginia last month, went on another road trip to get him. We left on Friday, Feb. 18 and drove to Dam Neck (hate saying this, sounds like I am cussing), picked him up, and headed back home. Can I just say that 14 hours in a car is not good for me! But we had a great time and even found us a radio station that will play our request! We had craft night on that Saturday and made beaded rings, I just wasn't in the mood, tore apart two rings and decided after starting on the third one that it could wait till I just wanted to be a little more creative! Maybe it was the movie that I knew I was going to see.

We left at 9:30 on Saturday night to go see I Am Number 4 - can I just say - AWESOME. And I did something that I have not done in a very long time. I yelled out loud - TWICE! Can't beleive I did that. That is so not me! But intense was the word. Loved this movie and very excited to see that there is another one coming out in September - The Power of Number 6. Paxston found out that there is a book...

On Sunday we left the great town of Chesnee and drove back to Virginia to take Paxston back home. Now I know that the GPS is a great invention, but "INGRID", that is her now given name - seems to take us on different routes every time! I can think of another name to give her that starts with an "I". Gets a little frustrating is all I am gonna say! That's alot of miles in one weekend. And now that gas is skyrocketing, I am not sure when we will go back!

I bought the book I Am Number 4 on Tuesday - finished it on Sunday. Read the first two chapters of the next one this morning. It's going to be awesome too. The movie and the book differ a little bit, but there will not be any disappointment. I cannot comment right now, because others that I know have not read it! I was thinking today of what kind of super powers I would like to have. I would get in so much trouble if I had them that is for sure, I am sure that I would be shooting fireballs all the time, but being invisible would be pretty awesome too, not to mention moving objects with your mind...

So here we are today, Monday, the last day of February. We are in line for some major storms this afternoon. I told Ethan that I may come get him after school because of the weather and that he could miss Bible Club. His reply, "no mom, we only have 3 months left, I don't want to miss anything". So right now I am saying, "Lord could you hold off just a bit?". I do admit that the clouds have been awesome looking today and I know that they could get intense later. I am "one of those" that loves to be standing outside when the storm is on it's way. I love looking at everything. Such power! I do pray for protection of those in the paths, but it is pretty neat to see God show off in His power! I am sure some don't think of it quite like that.

So have a great Monday!!Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-38764356268941281282011-02-14T05:45:00.000-08:002011-02-14T05:45:37.912-08:00Happy Birthday Mom!Today my mom would have been 71 years old. I would have love to have thrown her a party - she loved Birthdays and she knew she was extra special being born on Valentine's Day.

One of the best times I had was baking her a heart shaped cake (took a round pan and square pan and made the heart by cutting the circle in half and placing on the square) I always made sure it was chocolate icing (her favorite) and then I tape streamers to the ceiling and had the living room decorated when she got home. I always tried to make it special for her, it was more about her that day that what the day was really about, like it should have been. She always made my birthday special for me.

Its been 10 years since I have been able to say it to her. So my heart hurts alot on this day, when everybody else is all ooey, gooey about love, my heart wants to burst from hurt from missing her. So I may not be all cheery today, gushing with happiness, but that is just me. And you are just you.Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-90467706219122944792011-01-29T06:38:00.000-08:002011-01-29T07:08:03.236-08:00well hello againI seem to be letting too much time pass by...but there is no normal in my life so why would I expect anything to be very different.

Feels pretty nice to be a fan of a National Championship team. Not sure when we will get to do this again. Losing too many seniors and with Cam Newton going, it could be a while. It was great while it lasted!

We had an awesome Christmas. All my kids were here, so it was perfect. Ethan got a puppy for Christmas. The response was not what we expected. He comes in and there is the dog with a cute little collar on her neck and a tag that says "To Ethan". Well, Ethan did not see Molly (Crickette's puppy) and he thought that Santa was trying to pull one over on him. He said it was Molly, we said no this is your puppy. He was ready to go back to bed. Chris had to go back and help him to see that this was his dog. When Crickette got Molly up and when Ethan came back and saw two dogs, it all changed. We let him pick out a name. He said He wanted to call her Love, well I told him it needed to sound like it ends with a y so it's easier to learn. So her name is Lovey! He loves to carry her behind his back. This may not last long, since she is growing.

We had a great day. Delievered donuts to a few fire stations, EMT station and police station. That is one of our traditions on Christmas morning. We go get donuts the night before and then take it to them on Christmas morning to say thank you for serving!

Excitement built through the day because it was all setting up for snow! So yes we got snow on Christmas. It was a beautiful site. I am not sure how much but it was covered. We tried to build a snowman but the snow was more powdery than anything, so he got to be short and squatty - sort of like me!
We have enjoyed our time with our sailor. He came home for Christmas for 10 days. It was exciting picking him up from the airport. He was so cute in his uniform. We saw lots of servicemen that day getting ready to go home to families! Paxston got to stay for Christmas, go back to Great Lakes for 10 days and then come back to us for 10 more days before he left for C-school. Jordan and I took him back last weekend to Dam Neck Viriginia where he will be stations for the next 185 days. The morning view was pretty! Too bad it was FREEZING cold outside, they said the coldest night of the year so far. We tried pictures on the beach but it was brutal!

T’was a few weeks after Christmas, it was quiet all round town
Old Santa was off to Jamaica, and Rudolph was bedded down
Aubie was alone at the stadium, one last visit this eventful year
His heart was full of peace and pride, in his eye was a joyful tear

As he sat in the student section, he reflected on his past
When he’d started this in ’62, he’d never dreamed how long it’d last
The memories came in like a raging flood, they hit him with a jolt
He felt a presence sit down behind him, his vision blurred by smoke

He turned around to greet his visitor, who’d entered with no fan-fair
He knew it had to be a friend, another fan come to Jordan-Hare
At first he thought “I don’t understand, why can’t my eyes adjust”
“I cannot see thru this thick haze, is it fog, or rain, or dust?”

He looked left then right, up then down, and he realized the stadium was full
Some looked meek and mild, others strong and wild, eyes raging like those of a bull
Then one by one they came into view, the air was clear at last
To his surprise he recognized these faces from the past

In the middle of the crowd sat George Petrie, who'd coached Auburn’s very first game
To his right was the infamous John Heisman, to this day we still honor that name
There was Donahue, Dye, Bowden and Tubby, all heroes to any Tiger fan
But in front of the crowd standing regal and proud stood “Shug” Jordan, the legend, the man

There sat Frederickson, Gilbert and Beasley, next to Sullivan, Cadillac and Brown
Rocker, Campbell and Jackson, the greatest players from any college town
They were all here together for the very first time, to show their support and elation
To celebrate finally the greatest of greats, the number one team in the nation

Shug looked down at Aubie and said “my dear friend, our message must get to the team”
“For fifty plus years we’ve been looking for this, the answer to all of our dreams”
“They have the talent, the drive and the will but let me make one thing real clear”
“It started before them each man you see here, has felt that same feeling of fear”

“We each came before them and gave all we had in search of the very same thing”
“A chance to be something that few men can be, and wear that Champions ring”
“Tell Chizik, and Newton, Fairly and Burns, Mulzahn and Dyar good luck”
“We’ll all be here cheering and watching with pride while you pluck that old Oregon Duck!!”Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-71850929401775730002010-12-28T06:41:00.000-08:002010-12-28T06:41:54.367-08:00Just had a thought...Admitting that I am behind on my devotianals but also had something come to mind as I was doing the one for December 25.

Christmas is all about the birth of Christ, but we get so caught up in the comericalization of Christmas that it's easy to loose sight of what is true. I am issuing a challenge to you, and a project now for me. I think that we should all have a manger sitting next to our Christmas tree - one that is empty (doesn't have to be huge). Then when we get up on Christmas morning to open the presents and see just what we all are getting for Christmas and what was brought to us after we went to sleep, we can then see the baby in the manger and truly understand that Jesus is the greatest gift that we could get for Christmas.

Thoughts??Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-12428395337158744472010-12-21T06:05:00.000-08:002010-12-21T06:05:38.349-08:00Converstaion with EthanLast night my family went shopping, leaving me at home. Well it was super hard to let me hand over the reigns of stuffing the stocking to my husband, but I gave him the list. My children all know that they will find toothpaste, a toothbrush, deoderant, shampoo and this type of goodies in their stocking for Christmas. So they all left after Crickette got back last night at 9:00 PM. This seems to be the magical hour this week for shopping.

Well I had to think about what I was going to do without them for a couple of hours, but I played on the computer till the battery ran out, watched some taped episodes on TV and then finished putting things back in order in the kitchen. Yesterday I cleaned out the closet in the half bath and cleaned out the drawers in the kitchen. I hung a few things on the wall that had been packed up on boxes for 2 years. Guess this means I may be staying here.

After they got back it was time for Ethan to sleep. Since his brother is home, there is no spare bed. Crickette normally stays in the basement (well there are two bedrooms and a bath down there) and right now the heat isn't fixed so she is staying in Ethan's room. So munchkin is sleeping with us. So I get into bed with him my first question was "Did Daddy buy me anything?" But I stopped him, I know Ethan will tell, but he did get out, I am not really sure... Hmm.... So he informs me that he got to play Kinect in the store and how much fun it was. So I ask him if he would rather have the Kinect more than getting WII games and he said yes! So this Christmas will really be fun. He came in the house yesterday and was all excited about the Grinch being on and basically was trying to figure out what was going to happen, and he is SO enjoying Christmas this year. Oh, back to the conversation. I was asking him what he wanted for Christmas and he was telling me all sorts of things and then he ask - what do you want for Christmas. I told him mine was under the tree, all I wanted this year was a Cricut. Well he proceeded to tell me that I couldn't just ask for one thing for Christmas, I had to want more. That is so funny. He said don't you want other scrapbook things? So I had to tell him yes. Then he seemed to be fine. I told him we had to stop talking so I could go to sleep, he told me to just close my eyes while he talked so I could rest. That child~~

So Paxston brought out the Kinect again last night and Crickette is now loving it. Can't wait to see Amber's moves!! This is going to be so much fun!!!

Have a great Tuesday....Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-54389254861054549672010-12-20T05:58:00.000-08:002010-12-20T08:19:29.769-08:00Good Monday Morning...Well as good as it can be. I went shopping last night at 9:30 PM - yes that is right! I went with Chris and Paxston and the main goal was to get to Toys-R-Us for Ethan's Christmas. We sent to Kohl's, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Toys-R-Us. And I didn't get in the bed till 2:30 AM. So dragging a bit today.

Paxston was having a fit to get Ethan the Kinect for the X-Box. I must say that when we got home Paxston had to try it out and it is something else. We did play the game Dance Central

Talk about laughing - and I was the WINNER!!

We had a blast and will have more fun with the family!!

Got Paxston at the airport on Friday. I was emotional before entering the building. A busload of soldiers was getting off! We did clap for them as they came throught the airport. P was so cute in his uniform and one lady came up to him and thanked him for his service to our country!

Got had a great time with family in Alabama. Tradition had changed and we had STEAK for Christmas dinner! WOO HOO - nobody loves steak more than me. I didn't eat but two small sides so I could enjoy my steak (and a half). And yes I ate another steak for breakfast before we left!! Yum Yum.

Saturday after our family time I decided I needed to spend the money I got so off to Dothan to find me a WAR EAGLE shirt. Found one at Dick's that I loved!!

Well on the front table here is the shirt and a sign almost touching it that says $17.99. I see another gentleman talking to a salesperson and she was telling them that they had short sleeve shirts for 17.99 but they were out. I called her over to ask about the sign in front of this shirt and the 20 shirts laying on the table. She said that they we not on sale, the sign was for S/S (short sleeved). I told her that the sign was directly in front of this shirt and how were we suppose to know the code. I thought that we should bet the shirt for 17.99. She called another girl over - her name is Catherine. Well she informed me that the shirt was not on sale. I told her that the sign was directly in front of the shirt and that looks like false advertising. Again saying that we should get the shirt for 17.99. By this time the gentleman was getting ready to leave. I looked at him and told him to get his shirt, we were getting it on sale!!! Well Catharine walks up to the counter and whatever was in her hand, she flung it at the salesperson and said (ADD ATTITUDE HERE) Fine, give it to them for 17.99. So they sold us 3 shirts for the sale price. I ask if Catharine was a manager and she said no. I will be calling the store! (I called this morning and let him know - he apologized and wanted to make sure we got it at the sale price) As we were leaving the gentleman passed by us and pointed saying Thank You and smiled!

So we are back to "normal" if there is such a thing. I am technically finished shopping and ready to enjoy my family. I did post picutres of my ornaments on my FB page, will tell the story here a bit later.

Have a great week!!

On the way home Saturday, I had a friend (Deana) send me a text asking if Ethan could get a phone call from Santa, I said sure and told her to send it to the cell phone, we were traveling home.

I had to stop at the post office so I told Ethan to make sure he answered the phone if it rang. You should have seen the look on his face when I got back in the car. He was listening to the call and had the neatest smile on his face.

Now let me back up to Friday night: When we were trying to go to sleep, he ask me if Santa was real. Before I could say anthing he ask if elves were real. Then he proceedes to answer is questions and said he believed that elves were real, they just had to be.

Now back to the call: I ask him who was on the phone and his eyes lit up and he said Santa! He continued to listen. When the call was over he let me know that Santa called just for him, that he knew his name. And said that Santa knew that he was a good second grader because Amber told Santa. He said that Santa would be leaving him a new toy on Christmas morning and he had to leave milk and cookies! He was just amazed that he got the call. When it was over we were going down the road and Ethan says, "I knew he was real!"

Several times during the day he would be just smiling and then say, you know why I am so happy? I would say, "No, why?" Then he would say, "Because I got a phone call from Santa!"

This Christmas will be fun, especially when he sees that box with a big red bow and tag that says To: Ethan and his very own puppy is inside!

If you want to send a call from Santa visit:
Gotta get Kay ready for one more poem!!

Hat's off to my Auburn Tigers for being the SEC Champions, now on to the National Championship. It will be great for Alabama to have back to back champions! And congrats to Cam Newton - Heisman winnner. I had a friend that said she didn't like my quarterbacks arrogance, I just had to remind her that we all have many faults. I have to admit, if I was that great I would be arrogant too.

After the ballgame I didn't get to go to church that Sunday because Ethan had started running a fever on Friday night. Just a low grade fever and no othr symptoms. We notice by Monday that it was only late in afternoon and night that he ran it. He missed Monday and Tuesday with school. He went to school on Wednesday but ran fever that night. After that it never came back. Must have been a virus!

I think that my vertigo is FINALLY gone. I had it for four weeks. Now it wasn't too bad. It was localized to a head tilt to the left and then laying down, so it was tolerable!

Friday night I traveled to Charlotte to Elke's to use her Cricut (mine was wrapped and under the tree) so that I could make ornaments. It was just me, Elke, Lisa and Laura. What a great time of fellowship for me.

Saturday, I had to do a little catch-up from work and get the bulletins done. After that I told Chris that we needed to do something fun with Ethan, so we went to Toy-r-us so that we could get an idea of toys for him. It was fun and he was very excited. Wow at the toys out there!!

Sunday we celebrated 24 years of marriage. After church Chris took a nap and Crickette came home from Charlotte after giving Amber a makeover. Well I decided to see if I could get the fireplace lit, we couldn't get it done on Thursday. As I was leaning over I lit the lighter, well obviosly I had too much hair product in my hair and WHOOSH - I had fire in my hair!! I dropped the lighter and clapped out the fire. Talk about the worst smell in the world! Now I know how Michael Jackson felt. Yes we got a good laugh and I told Crickette to get the scissors...time for my makeover! We also colored my hair. I love my layers.

I am so excited about this week, Paxston comes home! We pick him up at the airport on Friday and then we will head to Alabama for the weekend. It's been very cold here and we had a few flurries last night, maybe snow will come this year! Stay warm! See you later.

Gotta fill you in on the Christmas tree and Ethan's phone call from Santa - check in tomorrow!

This weekend we celebrated 24 years of marriage.Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-86920766838277143052010-12-01T16:44:00.000-08:002010-12-02T04:57:32.918-08:00T'was the 4th of December
T'was the 4th of December
by Kay Singletary

Twas the 4th of December, was a chill in the air
He was headed to Atlanta, flags flying everywhere
He’d come from a place that was not used to fame
They had never been champs, never placed in this game

He wanted so badly to show all his peers
To quite all their laughter, their taunting, their jeers
He was thinking he had this, no doubt in his mind
The trophy was his, he would rule all mankind

He pulled thru the gates of that great Georgia Dome
Thinking only of the victory that would soon be his own
When out of the corner of his eye he did see
The one thing that stood between him and victory

He thought to himself…oh dear Lord this can’t be,
I thought they had benched him, why’d you do this to me!
They told me that he was not eligible to play…
I’d banked on that statement from the NCAA

He turned toward the field with his heart sinking low
He wondered if he could just cancel this show
His feathers were ruffled, he couldn’t even talk
He no longer strutted, he barely could walk

He’d never felt worse, his knees almost locked
He certainly didn’t feel like a Fighting Game Cock
The sight he’d just witnessed put an end to his dream
They were tougher, and harder…. a greater ball team

Then before he could stop, he threw his visor on the ground
Old habits die hard… always find their way back ‘round
He took one more glance at that bird, so grand and regal
Raised his hand in salute, and shouted out…….WAR CAM EAGLE!!!

I sent a message to Kay and told her if she would write us another one, I would blog about it! We traveled to Waxhaw to be with Amber. We drove separately so that Crickette and I could stay behind for Black Friday. Amber did a FANTASTIC job on the turkey. The table was set with her fine china and was very inviting! I took my dressing, a ham, dirty rice and Crickette fixed Monkey Bread. With the combination of Amber's goodies, we had a feast!

After dinner Chris and Ethan head home and Steven heads out with his brother to grab us a newspaper for the sales paper.

We lay it out on the table and begin to write down our plan of action. The main item that I wanted from Wal-mart was my Cricut Expressions. It's what I will use for scrapbooking and making other wonderful crafts and gifts!! Well Wal-mart was pretty busy at 10:00 PM. We were amazed that the pallets were out with our goodies so all you had to do was place your item in your buggy and wait till 12:01 to purchase. We never could find the Cricut, so I had a back up plan. Jamie (friend) was at the WM in Boiling Springs and she pick up mine and hers. I told her we would wait till midnight and if I didn't have mine she could buy it. At 10 after they had till not put out the pallet of Circuts, so Jamie has mine - PURPLE!! She got the teal one.
After Wal-mart, Crickette went back to Ambers for shut eye since she had to work that morning. Off to Old Navy we went. It was pretty packed, so I got in line and let Amber do her shopping, I was nearing the front when she finished, so that went well! Managed to grab a few more gifts here!

We proceeded to Target - our last stop. It's was a little nippy outside, but not unbearable! We sat outside for 2 hours. The people in line were entertaining. Especially the ones in the tents. When the line proceeded to pack in a little tighter, she got out of tent, grabbed it and moved it up. She really should have just packed it away. The people with the smaller children really got the looks! It was funny to watch the crowds as the doors opened and our line started moving. People that showed up close to 4:00 am, just thought they would step on into the line, but buddy the line just shouted like crazy at them informing them they would not be getting near any of us! WOW....heard the cops had to be called at Toys-r-us. We were in and out of Target in 22 minutes! Woo Hoo. Shopping is mostly done.

After getting back to Amber's, I decided no nap so we headed back home. I pulled in the driveway a few minutes after 6:00 am. Yes extremely tired!! All I slept was for 4 hours. I got up and went to chiropractor then took Crickette lunch since she was working alone. I did scoot over to Hobby Lobby and pick up two more gifts! Back home and thinking of a nap...

Well that didn't work since it was getting time for the ballgame. Chris had a funeral to attend, so I taped the game and said I would not watch it or even check facebook to cheat and know what was happening. We started the game an hour later. Talk about nail biting. I was the one doing the screaming at the beginning of the game. Wondering where the Auburn tigers were, they sure weren't playing like the team we have all seen before (but then we are the comeback team). The second half was very interesting and I must say that when the game was over I did not get penalized for excessive celebrating! We are not very "in your face - look my team won" kind of people! (but they were at church the next morning, talking about next Saturday's game)

So I did get to catch up on facebook and see what all the posting was about. We caught up live in the last 2 minutes! I did see a post from Dr. B (doctor from hometown) who stated:
*** As Auburn players gathered on the field for their
pregame walk troughs, the Bryant-Denny Stadium speakers blared "Take
the Money and Run" by Steve Miller Band and followed that with "Son of
a Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield. *** Auburn players were booed while they prayed on the field.*** I would say "stay classy ...bama" but that assumes too much.
This picture was taken by Dr. B at the game too.

Hmm. Hope Amber sees this to know that there are these type of people at every stadium, not just South Carolina. But all she dealt with was the fans, she didn't have the music blaring over the loudspeakers. Thought that was a bit tasteless. But they are everywhere!

Saturday consisted of putting up the tree. Will post pictures later. The middle section of my pre-lit tree did not work, so off to Wal-mart to buy lights! The tree is up and decorated, there are tons of ornaments. I even decided to just not put some of them on there. The first time ever I have looked at my tree and thought, maybe there are too many ornaments. There is a story to tell and nobody knows the story. Nobody really wanted to help me put ornaments on and I had decided this year that I would let them help me. Now if I can just find my stocking holders. There seems to be a box of Christmas goodies that is hiding from me!

Hope you had an awesome weekend. We finished ours off with the Hanging of the Greens at the church. It's was beautiful! The church looks so pretty decorated. We had fun getting all the trees up and garland hung that afternoon. We also got very entertained at Hardees. Crickette said we had dinner and a show. The girls behind the counter we very loud in their conversations (about their lives) so we got to hear. The first girl started with "so are you really going to divorce your husband?". Then then we hear another say, "You tell me your story, I will tell you mine"...

Enjoy your week. Only 19 more days and we get to see Paxston!!
Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-33265824646576610292010-11-26T07:34:00.000-08:002010-11-26T07:38:48.855-08:00Twas the Night Before the Iron Bowl....Kay Singletary wrote this and posted on Facebook. With all our small groups we did have 390 people attend, but he had 54 that attended more that one small group or Sunday school so we could technically only count them one so we got 336. It was still great to know that people were reaching out. Now if we could just do this every week and not on a special Sunday.

Hope your middle of the week is great!Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334239174406568807.post-1903320229910600122010-11-08T05:43:00.000-08:002010-11-08T10:07:22.569-08:00Monday, Monday...Well it was an awesome weekend. Chesnee won their football game and will continue in the playoffs. The game was great and the weather was FREEZING!!! But we stayed till the end and cheered them on. This week the game will be three hours away so we will stay home.

Saturday I was busy painting the wheel for the Wheel of Fortune game to be played in King's Stadium in Kidztown. It took almost all day! Chris not only brought my favorite lunch over from Fuji's, he brought me a dozen Lavender Roses! Made my day. I did take time out to watch Alabama play. Now I have to admit it. I have cheered for Alabama two times this year and they lost each time. I wonder if Chris really wants me to pull for Alabama. I may have to try it again this time and see what happens. If so I just might have to buy an Alabama jersey for the last game. (add laughing here)

Sunday we had High Attendance. We are going to be very close to our goal of 350! The sanctuary was PACKED. They said maybe 20 seats left. Chris thought of about 40 people that were out yesterday. This is a great problem to have! It's amazing to see how God has grown this church in two years. Our 2 year anniversary is coming up December 1. Time is flying by.

So I hope you have a great start to the week! I am looking forward to it!!Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07865448100508124666noreply@blogger.com2
